Product Overview Duplex Steel S32205 is a nitrogen-enhanced duplex stainless steel containing a balanced microstructure of austenite and ferrite. It is commonly referred to as 2205 duplex stainless steel and is designated under UNS S32205. Typical Chemical Composition Chromium (Cr): ~22–23% Nickel (Ni): ~4.5–6.5% Molybdenum (Mo): ~3–3.5% Nitrogen (N): ~0.14–0.20% Carbon (C): ≤ 0.03% This composition provides enhanced resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking compared to standard austenitic grades such as 304 and 316. Mechanical Properties (Typical Minimum Values) Tensile Strength: Approx. 620–800 MPa Yield Strength: Approx. 450 MPa Excellent impact strength and fatigue resistance Duplex S32205 offers nearly double the yield strength of conventional austenitic stainless steels, allowing for reduced material thickness in many structural applications.
